According to your results, you’re in the POWER UP mode. You know the truth: you are a person of power. And, in some instances you let yourself deflate. You are a busy person with lots of ideas and goals. You know what it takes to be successful in business and in life – but sometimes you experience burnout or feel limited by money or time.
You prioritize yourself, most of the time. You make time for you and your health by investing in workout classes, going for walks, or even a healthy nutrition program. Wow, you! Family and friends are an important part of your life. You keep your commitments – sometimes at the cost of your wants and needs. Maybe you skip yoga because your husband wants to golf when he usually picks up the kids from dance. Or you have a tight work deadline but take a friend’s phone call who wants support with their kitchen remodel.
You may also love the idea of getting supported with a house cleaner or laundry service – but feel it’s not necessary because you can do it all. You may experience some worry or guilt with getting supported or when you do not meet everyone’s needs or wants.
You weigh the cost benefit of most choices with an occasional splurge on a night-out, babysitter, or killer outfit. You have also invested in furthering your education or training with books, podcasts, classes or masterminds. You know the value of continued growth and learning – and knowledge fuels you and your business. You would love to have a business coach or be part of a community of like-minded women, but hesitate because it feels frivolous, expensive, or just not for you.
You have a clear vision for your business and have experienced success in the past. Your business has made money or you are very successful at work – with an urge to go out on your own because you know you have what it takes.
You are on the path, and the gift is that you still get to embrace all of you, all of the time.
Are you ready to IGNITE YOUR POWER? Here is an exercise today to get a power tune-up. This is the challenge: have an opinion and a STRONG ONE about what you want to have for dinner. Then, make it happen.
- Maybe what you want is for a loved one to cook for you or pick up a meal?
- Maybe what feels most nourishing to you is putting together a salad with your favorite dressing and ample hummus and pita on the side.
- Maybe it’s not what you cook that’s different but how you do it, so you choose nourishing music and you take your time?
It’s a tiny gesture. But it’s important. We’re often in the habit of putting family first and choosing what’s easiest. But giving ourselves permission to have a desire and then act on it is the gift underneath this simply exercise. And permission is the gateway to power.
