Want to know how I created my first coaching client?
I started taking my first paying clients just 8 weeks into my training. I’m a firm believer in 2 things: Start before you’re ready and be authentic about where you are.
Here’s how I did it. I sent her a message and asked if I could tell her more about the career I was stepping into and I shared how I thought I might be able to help her with what I was learning.
Turns out she was looking for help with exactly what I was offering! I was honest about the fact that I was still learning and offered her a discounted rate – it totally took the pressure off of me to have all the answers because she knew I was still learning – plus it allowed me to receive “on-the-job training” so to speak.
We learn so much more by “doing” than we do from theory. Within two weeks I had my second paid client and the rest is history.
Why am I sharing this? Because I know it can be scary to step out when you’re just getting started. A lot of my clients tell me they suffer from feeling like an imposter when they begin as an entrepreneur and it holds them back.
Everyone begins at the beginning. Every expert in your field was once where you are so just begin! I’ll be right here cheering you on!
